Management Philosophy Handbook

The Sun Frontier Group’s Common Decision-Making Guidelines: The Management Bible
“We want all employees to be happy.”
This is the motivation behind publishing this handbook.
Based on the weekly 3,000-character reports written over nine years by our founder, Mr. Horiguchi, in the spring of 2006, our employees compiled 125 entries—each around 400 characters—summarizing the values we should cherish as human beings.
A company is built by its employees. It is their mindset that shapes the outcomes. What each employee carries in their heart is the key. This is the point Mr. Horiguchi, as the founder and leader, emphasizes the most.
A company is also a community of people. Whether those people are united and working toward the same goal, or scattered in different directions pursuing their own interests, the efficiency and results—even in the same amount of time—will differ greatly.
Sun Frontier upholds “Compassion” as its corporate motto, and we use “what is right as a human being” as our standard for judgment. We strive to contribute to society while fostering the personal growth of every employee. To realize this collectively, we have defined our management goal as “achieving both material and spiritual well-being for all employees.” That is why, in our daily work, we sincerely wish for every employee’s happiness. This wish is the reason we created this handbook.
In the day-to-day situations we face in work and life, what standards should guide our decisions? When we are uncertain, this handbook serves as a spiritual compass—a source of guidance that offers insight when we're in doubt and reminds us to stay humble and grateful in times of success.
While respecting each individual's values, aligning the company’s direction and unifying all employees’ efforts is vital to the success of any organization.

〔1〕Compassion
<October 28, 2002>
-
Sun Frontier’s corporate motto is “Compassion.”
First and foremost, we work for the sake of our colleagues. On top of that, for their happiness, we strive to serve our clients with ten times the spirit of compassion. To truly benefit our clients, we must carry out our work with even greater love and a socially conscious approach.
Social consciousness means living and working with compassion for the Earth and the plants and animals we share it with.
With compassion, we strive to be creative and to make continuous improvements for the happiness of others. The first step is to see how much we can contribute to those around us. That is precisely the value we pursue.
It is purity of heart that leads to greatness. Let us devote ourselves wholeheartedly to our clients and colleagues—with pride, love, a sense of closeness to the company, big dreams, and a heart full of gratitude.
Let us build a company we can be proud of—one rooted in the spirit of compassion—through the strength of each and every individual.

〔3〕Absolute Positivity
<January 29, 2001>
-
At all times and under any circumstances, the one attitude we must never lose is that of Absolute Positivity.
It is the heart that governs all of life’s events, and the driving force behind it—the engine—is the strong mindset of being “always positive, constantly positive.”
The heart is an essential instrument for living life fully. Therefore, we must never allow it to be ruled by negative thinking. When work isn’t going well, it’s often because our hearts are not fully aligned with a mindset of positivity.
Never use negative words. Hold a sense of urgency, but always maintain a mindset that seeks possibility and embraces challenges—not one that is pessimistic.
Instead of spending time worrying, make swift decisions and act immediately.
Those who cultivate a higher mindset, foster harmony, and lead their work to success all share one common trait: a strong mental attitude and way of acting rooted in Absolute Positivity.
Approaching every situation with brightness, cheerfulness, and an unwaveringly positive attitude will transform both your work and your life.
Success is the product of an absolutely positive mindset.

〔5〕Upholding What is Right
<January 5 & July 5, 2004>
-
At Sun Frontier, we believe in seeking and upholding what is right as human beings. Whether in business or daily life, unwavering commitment to what is right is our highest standard for decision-making.
Trying to take shortcuts only complicates and distorts work. A company must clearly understand client needs and create added value through businesses aligned with the progress and development of society—while upholding what is right with honor and transparency.
Through our core business, we aim to provide satisfaction, joy, and inspiration to our clients, and as a result of our compassionate contributions, to justly earn profits.
Our work must be principled, reasonable, and never contrary to widely accepted social morals. Temporary success may come from deviation, but true, lasting prosperity cannot exist without a foundation rooted in integrity.
To be right means to judge based on fundamental human principles—with fairness, justice, courage, compassion, humility, sincerity, transparency, and gratitude—and to remain true to what is right without compromise.
